Jesus Seekers

  Lesson          

“Now godliness with contentment is great gain.  
And having food and clothing with these things we
shall be content.  For the love of money is a root of all
 kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the
faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves
through with many sorrows.”  
(1Timothy 6: 6,8, & 9)

I asked God to make me rich
For I eagerly sought life’s pleasures
And God heard and blessed my efforts,
Touching my life in uncountable measures.

Then slowly I began to see that money
Did not give the happiness I sought,
It brought with it many problems
Some of which I’d never thought.

For, replacing God with worldly things
Which became my god and goal,
I soon realized it brought with it
Slow death to my spirit and soul.

I went before God and cried aloud,
“I’m in prison; please break me loose.”
He taught me a valuable lesson
And showed me His word is truth.

He said, “You must learn kingdom principles.
Now here is what you must do-
Follow the footsteps of Jesus.
Control your money, do not let it control you.”

So now my life is properly aligned.
I enjoy my life everyday.
Health, wealth and peace are mine,
For I chose to do it God’s way.
